Chevy Camaro Overheating- Engine Light On
Question:
Radiator is overheating and overflowing water with air bubbles.(observing without radiator
cap installed) Engine compression is fairly even, spark plugs are clean, and no water in the oil. Just bought
this Camaro and the previous owner installed some type of stop leak in the radiator. Car ran cool, engine just
passed emissions inspection, and the overheat and loss of coolant happened when my
granddaughter was driving. 1994 Chevy Camaro 3.4 v6.
Answer:
Any time there are bubbles in the cooling system, this is a sign of a head gasket problem. Combustion
gases are being pumped into the cooling system. You can test this with a kit purchased from any local
parts store.
There is either a bad gasket, or a cracked cylinder head. The previous owner put stop leak in it for a reason- to correct this correct this problem.
Chevy Camaro 1999. Brakes, check engine and security lights on.
Just made a trade so not really sure.
I have a 1999 chevy Camaro when I'm driving the car cuts or the steering wheel/brakes is almost locks
all the way up. I'm not sure whats wrong, i had the battery checked and it good. But the hook up in the
inside under the steering wheel wouldn't read. If possible someone might know whats wrong and would
it have anything to do with my spark plugs or the power of the car alone?
Answer:
You have a lot of problems on your Camaro. All the lights on the dash for one thing. The stalling out
and shaking are related and could be any number of things. Anything from a bad ignition module or engine misfire caused by bad fuel injector or ignition component to
a faulty fuel pump.
The diagnostic connector not reading any data or not working at all is a big problem. You need to get that fixed before anything else can be diagnosed.
The scanner not working could just be a blown fuse for the connector if the scanner does not turn on, a bad computer or a wiring problem if it operates but does not show any data or codes.
