multifunction switch 1999 Buick Century
multifunction switch 1999 Buick Century
my multifunction switch on my 99 century my blinkers and wipers work but lights wont work unless i wiggle the stick then they shut right off. i can turn my lights on with the dash dimmer switch but this only works in the daytime. is there any way i can get the switch to turn them on at night? ive tried pointing a light at the daylight sensor but it doesnt work is there a way to disable auto lights so i can temporary fix and use manual switch?
Re: multifunction switch 1999 Buick Century
You should always be able to turn the headlights on manually with the headlight switch.
If not, then you need the get the problem fixed. If wiggling the multifunction lever gets things working, then you need to replace that or the turn signal switch.

Buick rendezvous rear liftgate latch
The liftgate latch mechanism on my 2004 Buick rendezvous simply stopped opening. Was working by remote and there is no manual way of opening the gate
Re: Buick rendezvous rear liftgate latch
If none of the regular ways work to access the liftgate, such as the handle, remote or button, the only way to get it open will be to remove the trim panel on the inside of the liftgate and pop the latch manually. This is not a fun task, as the trim panel is extremely hard to get off with the door closed, and will usually break some attaching clips/retainers. But, this is pretty much your only choice if you want it open again. Then you can replace the latch mechanism or actuator or what ever else is broken and not letting it open properly.

Re: how to get a smooth idle
I wouldn't worry about the slight imbalance (rough idle out of gear). It's normal for that engine under no load.. It's designed to be smooth in gear. Normal usage is to leave the trans in a gear. The only reason to have the car out of gear is because you just started it up or your just getting ready to turn it off.
