Shift solenoid code P0752
Shift solenoid code P0752
Got a code of p0752 on my 2004 Pontiac Bonneville...v6 3800 series.
Re: Shift solenoid code P0752
the problem has to happen two times. two consecutive trips to turn the light on. If you clear the code and it doesn't come back on then it might be contaminated fluid, plugged fluid circuits or restricted fluid circuits. Make sure the fluid level is full and looks and smells normally. (not burnt)
if the code comes back on after two trips then you need to look at the P0752 circuit. Using a scanner, clear the codes and then drive the car with the scanner looking at the transmission. Watch the Commanded gear and the gear ratio for each gear. See if there is a gear ratio change for each gear shift request. Look at the 1 to 2 shift solenoid valve for sticking on. the scan tool used should be able to graph the transmission circuits to see what is happening when your car acts up. Drive with the trans set in the normal D4 position and drive until you see you see how the trans shifts in all the forward gears. Don't over rev the engine if the trans doesn't shift into a higher gear.
watching the pressures and the solenoids,m it could be a solenoid or a control valve body problem. Depending on the graphs and scans along with the mileage on the vehicle it may need an overhaul or replacement. I would have a reputable trans shop take a look at this for you and let them direct you what should be done. A good tranny shop will have the tool that can manually turn on/off the solenoids and see if the trans reacts the way it should.
