Is the coolant system in the 2018 Subaru sealed at the factory so coolant cannot be added when low coolant light comes on?

Are you asking because someone told you that? Have you looked at the car to see where your low coolant sensor might be? Usually the low coolant sensor is in the overflow reservoir. You can add coolant to the reservoir when the engine is cold through the cap on the reservoir bottle. You should also check the radiator cap when the engine is completely cold to see if the radiator is low also.
