01 Impala battery was hooked up wrong

Unread post by oovmeister25 » Wed Sep 25, 2013 1:44 am

I have a 2001 Chevy Impala with the 3.4 liter engine. The person that I got it from hooked up the battery backwards. Nothing has worked since then. When you turn on the key or crank it the check engine light comes on but no lights, horn, buzzer, nothing else does anything. I have checked the fuses but they all appear to be ok. Please help me with this. Thank you very much.

you should hook a scanner to your vehicle and see if you have communication to all your computers.

My scanner does not power up at all when I hook it up and turn on the key.

If your scanner does not power up, then there is a blown fuse. Your Chevy should have a couple fuse boxes. Be sure to check fuses in them all. It may be labeled 'DLC' or 'PCM' or something like that.

2016 Chevy Impala LT

Unread post by duramaxff16 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 5:15 pm

I have a 16' Impala LT. I'm curious if anyone can answer my question about the speakers. The LTZ Impalas have and are marked with the BOSE system and more speakers I believe? I'm curious if the speakers in the LT are Bose also, or if they are different. If you look up part numbers there is 2 different speaker options without premium sound or with premium sound, but i've read that they might still be Bose speakers. If they are different can the LT speakers be switched out with Bose-plug and play?

the dealer does show different speaker for enhanced or not. you should look at your speakers and see if the tag on the side says bose or not. I would think that the wiring should be the same.

check your glove box for the RPO codes.

UIT, UQ7, UZ6, UIT, UL9 are codes for systems that have some BOSE components
