Buick Rendevous Traction And ABS

Unread post by Napi333 » Sat Jan 18, 2014 2:12 pm

My 2004 Buick Rendevous has the "Service Traction" and "Anti lock" light on intermittently and the "Service Engine Soon " on permanently. The hub has been replaced, new brake shoes, and new bearing have also been replaced. Upon engaging the brake there is a growling sound and loss of brake. Letting off on the brake and engaging it again gently give the brake life again. Do you know what repairs are needed and the approximate price? Thanks for any help.

you need to have your vehicle scanned to see what codes are stored. Then you can proceed to take care of what the computers are seeing as a problem. the growling sound could be the anti-lock motor activating. Anti-lock and traction control don't tell you about your normal everyday brake system. For the most part you can go metal to metal of have brand new brake pads and the anti-lock and traction won't care. The ABS and traction are all run off sensors and computers.

can't give you prices for a couple reasons. you have to know what you need to fix. and then every shop and area have different labor rates and parts prices. Dealers are usually higher, independent shops are high and brake and tire shops are less. But not always. check around at the shops in your area.
