code p0454 in 2009 saturn vue

Unread post by mandy1012 » Sat Jul 13, 2013 7:20 pm

my 2009 Saturn vue XR 2wd 3.6 L started showing check engine light a few days ago. I took it to autozone to read code in showed p0454 which is related to emissions system pressure sensor. I need to know if the evaporative emission control system (evap) pressure sensor is the same as the fuel tank pressure sensor? My code is showing intermittent leak

the computer turns on the service engine light the second consecutive ignition cycle that the fail occurs. the computer runs an engine-off natural vacuum test and sees a big FTP signal change. ie. a change of 1 inch of h2o in one second. you need to hook up a scanner and look at the ftp sensor under vacuum conditions. see if you can graph the ftp signal under the purge/seal function to view data while commanding purge to 30%. Look for erratic sensor signal. (make sure the sensor port is clear)

ok thanks. I just ordered the new sensor and me and my dad are going to just replace it and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks so much for your advice
