Re: Saturn ion
Ok, the coupe's have only side impact sensors located in each front door. You have to remove the door panel and the water deflector, then you can access the impact sensor and/or replace it.

what about on the 04 ion sedan?
Re: Saturn Ion front impact sensor location for airbags
On the sedan, it also only has side impact sensors and they are located behind the trim of the center pillar, between the doors, also called the 'B' pillar. Remove the trim to access either side impact sensor.

Re: Saturn Ion front impact sensor location for airbags
Hello why does the images above show I'm the diagram that the battery is located under the hood in front of the vehicle when it's actually located in the trunk at the rear of the vehicle?
I'm trying to find where my 2006 Saturn Ion2 sedan impact sensors are supposed to be located and why the never deployed after the vehicle came in contact with the barrier between North bound and South bound lanes on interstate 79 in Wv traveling between 70 -75mph when making contact with the cable barrier and mowing over two or 3 posts before coming to a rest. It ripped the bumper cover off ,busted the radiator, ripped the left front axle shaft apart, broke the lower control arm where it fastens to the sub frame , busted left front headlamp assembly and smashed the impact bar on the front left side flat as a pan cake and not one air bag deployed.
