Car overheated
Car overheated
I had a radiator hose come disconnected yesterday while driving and the car over. I reconnected the hose but the car temp will not go up
Re: Car overheated
you might not have enough coolant where your temp sensor is. An air pocket. did you refil and bleed your cooling system after reinstalling the hose?
what is the year, make, model and engine of your vehicle? Do you know if it has a coolant temp sensor for the gauge or does it rely on the temp sensor for the computer to tell the gauge what to say?
you should probably have the car scanned to see what the temperature actually is and if it matches what the gauge shows (cold) then maybe your thermostat is stuck open. It could be that when it overheated that the thermostat opened all the way and got stuck. Now it won't close and let the engine get warmed up.
Let me know what you find out
