Dodge caravan knocking
03 T&C radiator fan troubles
Replaced thermostat, which looked like it had been in battle. I was trying to test the electrical, but can't for the life of me figure out how to disconnect the radiator fan connectors. I removed the red pin, but can't figure out where to press to pull it off. I've tried with a screwdriver and without but there's not a lot of room to get a good look at it. I don't want to break it but it's really frustrating
Re: 03 T&C radiator fan troubles
I found the tab. It was near the end closest to the wires. By squeezing it with pliars I was able to wiggle it off fairly easily. Once disconnected, it's obvious when you can get a good look at it. So onto the next feat.
Dodge intrepid overheating
My intrepid is overheating when I drive it for to long it stop on me and don't start for about 30-45 minutes can someone tell me what's wrong and is it fixable..?
Re: Dodge intrepid overheating
can you give more information on what's been happening with your vehicle? Has it been overheating for a while or was this the very first time? Was it hot when it died? After it started back up was it still hot? I need as much information as you can give me. Without looking at the vehicle in front of me there is not a lot for me to go on.
Why do I have water in the heater fan?
I have water in my heater fan (2012 Jeep Patriot) .Any ideas why?
Re: Why do I have water in the heater fan?
hi, I can't login normally so I am going to answer this as a guest. If it is just water and not coolant I would check your heater plenum drain. You get condensation when ever the AC is turned on. (AC is turned on automatically is you turn on defrost) There is a drain to allow the water from condensation to drain out underneath the passenger side of the vehicle. Sometimes dust gets mixed with the water and when it dries it plugs the drain tube. With the drain plugged it will fill up in the plenum and start to leak inside the car. Try to find the drain and see if you can unplug it.
If you have a leak in the heater core or a leak in a heater hose that connects to the heater core they would leak coolant into the heater plenum. If the liquid is not coolant then it should be the AC condensation.

Dodge caravan knocking
My dodge caravan is knocking. Theres aluminum in the oil pan. What do I do?
Re: Dodge caravan knocking
If it's knocking from a rod knock you should look at replacing the engine with a good used one or replacing the whole van. (depending on age and value)
are you sure it's a knock? Not a lifter tick?

Re: instrament gaugee
what does that mean? are they not reading correctly? are they not working at all? Do they work sometimes and cut out at times? Does it intermittently cut off and stay off?
If the gauges don't work or they cut out intermittently, you could have a bad connection at the solder connection from the plastic connector to the circuit board. Vibrations and cold weather over time will cause cracks in the solder points to the pins on the circuit board. If you are good with a pinpoint soldering tip you can just re-solder the pins at the board. Don't add any solder just touch the solder that is already there until it liquifies and then move to the next one. What happens is the ipn will crack the solder and have a poor or bad connection at the pin. Heating the solder until it liquifies seals the crack
if the gauges don't work at all you need to get a scanner that has bi-directional controls for the cluster and see if you can do a gauge sweep. ( also check to see if you have any codes for the cluster) If it won't do the sweep do the re-solder job and check it again. If it still doesn't do the sweep test you should check the communication between the engine modules. See if you have a communication busproblem
