so many things can cause a loss of power. I know you changed your fuel pump but what is your current fuel pressure? and how's the volume? Dirty injectors of rusted fuel rail can act up like this. weak coil output can cause this type of problem. also a plugged up exhaust.

driving it with a scanner so you can see what the computer sees when the problem is acting up will tell you if you are running too lean on acceleration. check fuel trims. check your map sensor for vacuum readings.

What is the possibility of faulty purge tank or sticking EGR? No code lite is what troubles me. When I removed different connections to test units...map,tps, etc. The lite came on.

with straight pipes you don't have to worry about back pressure on the egr valve so if you want to test that, just unplug it. See if you still have a problem.

Same thing with the purge valve. you can take it out of the system to check it. Plug off the manifold vacuum line and it won't work.

Those two things don't seem like they would be your problem though.

I went through the same problems with my 97 Dakota. Replaced all kinds of stuff before I resolved the issue. It wound up being faulty and deteriorated positive and ground wires. Replaced all 4 gauge wire, and cleaned all ground points and connections. Runs better than ever! Hope this helps someone
