OK. That really tells us alot !
What kind of vehicle?
What codes do you have?
Narrow it down to what?
When does it go from small to large leak?
Are you looking at scanner data?

Durango ECM Question

Unread post by nct53 » Fri Mar 22, 2013 8:07 pm

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango that the ECM has gone bad. It had a part number of P56040331AB. I got an ECM unit with a part number of P56040482AB, but when I try it in the car, the car starts, runs for about 2 seconds, then turns itself off.

Can this ECM be programed to work in my Durango or does it HAVE to be the EXACT same part number?

Thanks in advance for your help!

For that information you'd want to check with your local Dodge dealer. They can cross reference the part numbers and tell you if it will work in your particular vehicle. My hunch is that it will NOT probably work. Yes, either way it needs to be programmed, which only a dealership can do anyway. So, you'll be making a trip there either way.

That code is for the emission leak detection pump that is located on the top of the fuel tank. This pump checks the emission components and lines for leakage. Usually this code means the pump is bad, which would require you to remove the fuel tank to replace the pump. That is the most common cause from this code, but can also be a wiring problem or a computer issue.

I recently took my 07 pacifica to auto zone and they told me my maf map and throttle control sensors were all bad or shorted and the manifold tune solenoid is shorted is there anything that could make all these codes come up or did all of them go out at one time??

it would help a lot if you could state the code numbers and what engine does your car have.

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan stutters

Unread post by earlyhemibill » Mon Aug 08, 2016 8:20 pm

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.3 flex motor. whenever I start climbing to high altitudes like in the mountains, the motor starts sputtering and backfiring and losing power. I have changed the computer, map sensor, and throttle position sensor with no luck. Anybody out there experiencing the same problem?
