Re: Y MY PICKUP WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS
That's not very much information to go off of, but I'd say you have a transmission problem if it won't change gears....get it checked out soon!

2007 Dodge Ram shimmy in 4x4 when speed up
i have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 and when i have the truck in 4x4 and i get going about 80km/hr it starts to shimmy a little bit in 2wheel drive its fine
Re: 2007 Dodge Ram shimmy in 4x4 when speed up
If it only happens while the truck is in 4WD, then it will usually be something from the transfer case forward. This could be a front driveshaft that is out of round, or out of balance, or a bad u-joint. It could also be something inside the transfer case, but that is probably the least likely area.
A problem in the front differential or axles can cause a vibration/shimmy when they are engaged, so you might want to check there too.
Lastly, if the front tires are worn, or out of balance, or even with a bent rim....it would become more noticeable when they are being driven in 4WD.

Dodge Ram Brake Lighting issues
2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins, Brake lights and turn signals have quit working. Had mechanic look at it before, he got the brake lights to work but the turn signals had to be flashed by hand and wouldn't work on the rear when the brake lights were on. Any suggestions?
Re: Dodge Ram Brake Lighting issues
check your multifunction switch (turn signal switch) and the flasher
2007 Dodge ram 2500 shifting problems
My Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings shifts through all gears fine except for second gear .When the truck goes into second gear it takes forever to shift into third revving the engine really high on rpms. The tuck is automatic. What could be causing this to happen I have checked the fluid and it is fine
Re: 2007 Dodge ram 2500 shifting problems
you should drive it with a scanner on it and watch the governor pressure and readings. (the governor pressure sensor) A shop could put a gauge on it and see if it's running the right pressures
Brakes
Got a 2005 Dodge ram 1500 4.7 v8. Had my breaks looked at recently, was told front pads have about 30% life and rotors had scratches most likely due to foreign object. However, on the left front side, I am getting a very metallic grinding noise when breaking, could this be from just a worn rotor? or maybe the caliper needs to be realigned?
Re: Brakes
if you hear a metallic grinding noise when braking, I would take it back to a shop and have them verify that it's not metal to metal on the brake pad. There is no realigning for the caliper. It is self aligning unless you have been in an accident where the caliper bracket has been damaged.
30% actually isn't that low that you should replace the brakes right away. Look at how many miles you have driven since your last brake job. That many miles = 70% used. if 70% = how many miles how many miles does 30% have? It should be close to half the distance that you used so far.
Most vehicles don't wear the brake pads perfectly even. Inboard, outboard, top half, bottom half... the pad could be dragging because of rust or debris. A caliper piston could be stuck. you could have 30% on one pad and metal to metal on the other side. Did they take the wheels off to inspect the inner and outer pads? But, regardless, Have that grinding noise inspected. Never a good sound.
