I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the idle air control valve. It still stays in high idle approx.2500rpm until you putnit in drive and drive it a bit. What could be the cause.

driving and the battery light comes on tells you the alternator is no longer charging your battery. Now you are Draining the battery. If the battery gets too low there isn't enough power to run the vehicle. vehicle stalls. Here's the thing with almost any electrical device, if you run it with the wrong voltage it may get damaged.

you may have lost the memory for computer setting. so you may have to see if you can keep it running with the throttle so the idle can be relearned. relearns pretty quick
