Year of the truck would guide a little about the internal workings, but slipping is never good.
Have you checked the codes, because sometimes an error for solenoids will show.
The speed sensor for some models goes rogue and affects shifting, causing the trans to fail.

Slipping is usually caused by two things, fluid under required pressure or the mechanical clutch disks worn.

I would start by changing the fluid and filter in the transmission and see if it fixes the problem. It's not expensive if you do it yourself, and sometimes fixes the problem. While you're under, look at the transmission cooler lines to make sure they're not pinched causing problems.
If it works after, great but if not you're most likely looking at torque converter, clutches, or the transmission as a whole.

Strange Alarm under hood of truck

Unread post by navy444 » Sat Mar 16, 2013 3:38 pm

I have a 1989 F250 7.3L with 225,000 miles. I am getting an alarm (beep-beep-beep) from the engine compartment. When I shut off the engine the alarm continues for over 1 minute. I can find nothing in the manual I have. HELP Russ

I dont know of anything under the hood of your truck that can make a beep sound. Maybe you have a non factory alarm and the siren or something is beeping?

You are going to have to be in a quite place to try to trace it down.

Ford F350 super duty 2002

Unread post by bjpw » Thu Jun 28, 2018 4:03 pm

My windows and radio stopped working when I replaced my 3rd brake light on the cab and my interior lights stay on for several minutes after turning off the truck. The clock light comes on when you turn the light switch on. Checked fuses and relays and the only relays that click are #302,303 and 305. Fuses #32,31,30,47,46 and 42 aren't working. What could be the issue?

ok, I need some information from you. Truck still runs and everything else seems to be working normally? How is the instrument cluster? everything working normally there?

fuses 30 (high beams), 46 (L-low beam), 47 (R-low beam) won't have power until you turn the light on to high or low beams

31 clutch (manual trans), trans reference (automatic) like neutral safety...

32 radio (start)

42 is for delayed accessory. temporary powered items after you turn off your key.

the radio, windows and dome are all run through the instrument cluster. check fuses 41 and 35. especially #41. $1 will cut power to the delay acc relay.

let me know what you find out
