68 ford , replaced starter
I have a 68 ford f 150. Put a new starter in it. It fired up, then died. Now when you turn the key you get a click then buzzing from the silinoid. What should I do now?
Re: 68 ford , replaced starter
The buzzing and clicking of any relay or solenoid is usually caused by low voltage or a bad ground. The starter or solenoid is not going to cause the truck to die out, so i am guessing you replaced the starter because it would not crank over.
Follow the positive and negative battery cables from the battery all the way along. Look for a loose connection or corrosion. Corrosion will be green crud on a connector or terminal.
If the main cables look good, start checking all wiring harnesses.
