Re: 2009 ford edge Will Not start
Just installing a trailer hitch should not cause the truck to not start.
It is possible they blew a fuse during the installation.
A hitch wiring would not affect the theft system, fuel pump, ignition or computer.

Re: 2009 ford edge Will Not start
thank you here is what is now going on, the rv dealer has taken the
edge to the ford dealer, the ford dealer has contacted me and said
they think there is a bad/loose wire under the dash and it may take
some time to find it, they therefore want to know if my extra warranty
that i got when i purchased the vehicle will pay for it, i am going to
contact the rv dealership today and find out what is going on, i also
found out that when they try to start the vehicle a read out comes
up which says the vehicle is stolen so i presume something happened
to the anti theft device wiring hopefully it will be fixed today, will advise

rv dealership got edge back from ford apparently at the time the rv dealership
was working on the edge installing new hitch the wire became disconnected/
fell off at the same time nothing to do with the hitch installation but the rv
dealership stated as it happened while it was in their shop they took responsibility
and paid for it as always all worked out fine, thank you for your assistance, jcm

Really good to listen about this kind of technology

Re: 2009 ford edge Will Not start
couple of things you may want to look at. You're going to have to measure the cranking amps for when it turns over slowly compared to when it turns over normal. 1. You may have a starter that is dragging when it gets hot. Most parts places have a heat shield or cover you could put between you starter and the exhaust manifold it the starter is getting too hot too. 2. or you could just have a bad starter.
do a voltage drop test between the negative battery post and engine block or starter case and see if you have too much resistance from your battery cables too.
