Mercury Mountaineer Battery Light And Not Charging

Jus need some troubleshooting solutions. was running fine yesterday until i was finished with my paper route. I noticed the battery light going on and charge meter was low, turned it off and it died and wouldnt start.Jumped it, started fine, took off home turned on the heater and noticed it drained the battery, as did using all other controls such as radio and signal light. changed my battery same problem. any help

Sounds like the alternator is failing. This is what charges the battery and keeps the trucks electrical systyem functioning properly. You would need to test the alternator to be sure it is not a wiring or other problem before replacing it.
