2004 ac comp belt

Does the a/c compressor belt tighten by a tensioner or by adjusting th position of the compressor.

More information would make it easier to give an accurate answer. Make, model, year and engine size. But saying that, most of the 2004 vehicles have automatic tensioners for their drive belts.
