GMC Envoy p/s cooler

why does a 02 envoy slt have a power steering cooler. Does the fluid get that hot without it?

I see the hoses that go a cooler so you might have one. Just follow your power steering hose from the pump to the gear then to the cooler and back to the pump. Why do you ask? Are you having a problem with your steering?
