Speedometer for 2005 GMC Yukon
My speedometer wont go all the way to zero it is stuck at 20-25. How can I get it back to normal
Re: Speedometer for 2005 GMC Yukon
it's very possible that you have a bad stepper motor for your speedo. It may or may not return to zero. is it accurate over the rest of the gauge? The speedometer is a gauge just like your temp, fuel, oil pressure, voltage and tach. it uses what they call a stepper motor that is controlled by the instrument cluster. you can try to hook it up ta a scanner that has two way communication and do a sweep test of the instrument cluster. That commands all the gauges to go all the way to the end of travel and return to zero. However, if your speedo stepper is bad it might make it worse.
does your speedo appear to be accurate at higher speeds or is it 25 miles higher across the board? The stepper motor is soldered onto the circuit board in four spots. If you know how to solder a circuit board it's not too hard to do it yourself. You just have to be careful with placement of the needle. Or you can have it sent off to be rebuilt. If you have it rebuilt make sure they do all the steppers and also the light bulbs if the lights are soldered in too.

I had to get a new cable installed on my 2004 Yukon when that happened to me.
How to wire horn
How do you wire a button for the horn 1992 Sonoma?
Re: How to wire horn
depends, are you wanting to repair the factory horn circuit or make your own horn button? and if you are making your own horn button, do you know where you are to position it?
