98 Sonoma 2.2 Broken EVAP line

Unread post by Sonoma Joe » Wed Jun 16, 2010 1:47 am

I have a Evap line that's broken off.
The other end runs to the EVAP test valve with the green cap.
Where does the end that is broken go?
I found it dangeling down in the passenger side engine area.

One end goes on the evap urge valve on the engine. It is a solenoid valve with 1 electrical connector and vacuu lines on it.
The other end goes down under the truck to the vent valve near the fuel tank.

So, I'm going to assume that is what the light is flashing when you try to retrieve the trouble codes? If so, you have a code 12, code 23, and code 31.

The code 12 is a normal one that pops up when you jump the diagnostic connector, so no worries with that one.

A code 23 is for your Throttle Position Sensor or Manifold Air Temperature (either depends on VIN code of engine)

And finally, a code 31 is for the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor.
