1994 caddy etc 78k mi. ticking in engine

i just bought this car and it ticks like an old car tappet or rocker arm. have you heard of these northstars doing this?

without hearing the actual noise, I would recommend taking it to a shop and just let them listen to it. Timing chain noises? oil pressure?
