Olds Aurora 2001 A/C Repair Cost

2001 olds aurora 3.5L V6.
The garage said my hi pressure hose on a/c wnet and I need to get it replaced. I was quoted 650. plus tax - this seems to be very high. What do you feel is fair price. Thank you.

That does seem a little high for a garage, and not a dealer.
This hose is pretty difficult to replace, and fairly expensive.
If i remember correctly, the part and labor and freon at a dealer would cost approx. $525.

I would like to recharge my own ac, but I've never done before. I'm sure I can find a recharge kit, tho not positive what kind. Also wondering where I actually recharge it?

The service fittings are in different locations depending on the engine size. 1 for the low pressure side, 1 for the high pressure side.
The kit you get from the parts store will only fit on one fitting, so you need to locate the proper fitting.
