Unread post by terri427 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:27 am

Please give instructions and placement of installation of a actuator motor. I have no air or heat blowing out of the dash vents.

First off, how do you know that you actually need an actuator? Has this been diagnosed by someone or are you just guessing that's what it needs?

I'd really need some more information to help you properly, such as what exactly is it doing? Can you hear any noises when you switch from heat to a/c? Does the blower motor function properly? Does the mode change when switch positions on the control head? Also, there are about 4 different actuators for the heating and air condition system on your vehicle, so I have no idea which one you're looking for help with.

Installing A/C Switch 2004 Chevy Trailblazer

Unread post by kellystubbs » Sat Feb 02, 2013 12:32 pm

How do I remove the resistor panel so that I can install a new A/C Switch Mode Selector. And my second question will be how do I install the switch?

If you are trying to replace the mode selector switch on the control panel in the dash, you cannot. It is part the whole assembly. It is called the HAVC control head. To replace the unit, pull on the trim that goes around that center part of the dash after removing 2 screws on the very bottom. Kind of hard to see those.

Experiencing same symptoms. 03 Trailblazer, manual temp control. Fan blower fine, defrost venting fine, heat vs AC fine, floor air flow fine. Problem = No air coming thru dash vents no matter what mode setting. Did the battery disconnect, fuse rest process, all NG. Suggested next steps for problem identification? (seems like a common problem for this vehicle)

Probably a faulty mode door actuator. Quite common and fairly easy to replace.

My 05 trailblazer will blow cool to cold air on the passenger side when I have the ac on but the driver side and rear just blows hot air.

most likely, your drivers side blend door actuator has stopped working. A scanner that can do the hvac system could look at the codes or even see where the door motors are at and see if the doors are moving.

motor #2 is the location for the drivers side blend door actuator (motor)
