daytime running lights (headlight lowbeam) 1999 3/4 ton

1999 3/4 ton suburban, my day time running lights (head light low beam)do not come on when I start my engine. The dash indicator shows they are on. My headlights work correctly, high and low beam. Several shops have told me they have no clue.

You would need a schematic. Would need to test for power to the DRL circuit.
I think there is a DRL resistor that controls the amount of voltage going to the lights.
It may be in the inside of the either front fender, near the front.

There is a Daytime Running Light Diode located underneath the left side of the dash that usually fails, causing the lights not to work normally. It would need to be replaced, and is fairly easy to change. I haven't seen this part available aftermarket, so I would go to your local GM dealer to purchase one.
