tranny 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid
tranny 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid
I have a 2000 Silverado pickup. The 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid is failing. Which solenoid is that solenoid. I have removed the pan and filter. There are 2 solenoids on the back and 1 on the front. I am positive I have the 4L60E tranny.
Answer: tranny 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid location
For that tranny, here is a pic- the 2nd to 3rd is marked 367b
I see the pic is cropped, but if you open it, it shows fine. It's the one on the right (passenger side) rear

(36) Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
(66) Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid Valve
(69) Automatic Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Manual Valve Position Switch
(367a) 1-2 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve
(367b) 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve
(377) Pressure Control (PC) Solenoid Valve
(394) 3-2 Shift Solenoid (SS) Valve Assembly
(396) Torque Converter Clutch Pulse Width Modulation (TCC PWM) Solenoid Valve

Re: tranny 2nd to 3rd shift solenoid
Thank You very much. That is the only information I did not have an answer to.
Auto transmision shiftting
2005 1500 saburban ,trany will not shift to over drive. had shift moduals & wire harness & oil changed. Had a code of P0785
Re: Auto transmision shiftting
you need to check for the power and ground to the 3-2 solenoid. Power for that solenoid is from fuse IGN 0. It is the pink wire going into the shift solenoids. The ground is the white wire from the shift solenoids to the power train control module.
If you have a scanner that can activate this solenoid, have someone cycle the solenoid and check the trans to see if it is cycling. (You may need to use a stethoscope to hear it clicking) You could also check you verify that you have power on the pink wire (battery voltage) and that the white wire is grounding the circuit.

Re: Auto transmision shiftting
Thanks for that info. I think it mite be ground because it comes and goes. The big question is where is the ground wire grounded at.
The car works ok until you drive 50-100 miles.

Re: Auto transmision shiftting
If it is the ground side: the ground is supplied from the PCM. So you need to figure out if the computer is not supplying the ground of the ground is not getting to the solenoid.
