Replace hydroboost with vacuum assist brakes

Unread post by CrazyW » Sat Jun 17, 2017 12:08 pm

I have a 98 k 2500 with hydroboost and have trouble with the system, and have heard they are prone to brake calipers sticking on and catching fire, etc... plus mine is leaking hydraulic fluid so was wondering....what does it take to convert hydroboost to vacuum assist power brakes

do you have a gas engine or a diesel engine?

if you have a gas engine you could go to a junkyard and get the stuff to switch the system over to vacuum booster. On the same hand you could get used parts from the junkyard to replace your leaking hydroboost system also.

I am not aware of hydroboost systems having a problem with calipers catching on fire.
