chevy silverado misfire pulling heavy load

Unread post by ricky67 » Sat Mar 15, 2014 8:24 pm

I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado that misses when I am pulling a load in fourth gear at 2500 rpms. The engine light comes on and I taken it to several dealerships and when they hook up to computer it shows multiple misfires. I have replaced plugs, plug wire, distributor cap, rotary cap button, coil, plugs and plug wires, shimmed crank sensor due to false reading. Does anyone have any idea how to fix problem?

you should graph your cylinder misfires. Some scanners have a misfire counter. if you could load your truck up and have the scanner on graphing the misses you could see what cylinders are doing what. You could also look at your fuel trims when it is acting up.

have you done a crank relearn?

what engine do you have?

weak or broken valve springs? TCC shudder,(GM TSB # 05-07-30-017B), bad fuel, injector problem...

I have 4.3 V6 motor. I haven't heard of a crank relearn.

the CKP systen variation relearn procedure may not apply to the 4.3L. it does for 4.8, 5.3 and the 6.0L. you would need a scanner to see if there is a relearn procedure.
