93 Silverado Delco radio problem

Unread post by Timw1000 » Fri May 07, 2010 6:04 pm

The AM/FM Delco radio on my 1993 Chevy pickup is locked on 1:00 time and
98.1 FM and no sound at all, tune button doesn't work. This does not appear to be an anti theft condition that I have read about, but it did happen after prolonged cranking & boosting. Can anyone advise me on this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Desperately need some tunes. Please Help !

No, this would not be a theft problem.
Sounds like the radio is bad. Jumping and cranking on a low battery, or even replacing batteries may have damaged it.
Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if the radio resets. If not, you will need a new one.

Cluster gauge Chevy 1500 problem

Unread post by 1229btm » Sun Oct 20, 2013 1:18 pm

My 95 1500 Chevy is having problem. The air bag light comes on when I accelerate, the battery gauge on the instrumen cluster maxes out, the interior and exterio lights get brighter when I accelerate. Also, their is a wining noise that comes from the alternato when I press on the accelerato. Does anyone have a clue of what this could be?

sounds like your alternator is overcharging. check to see what your voltage is at the battery when you rev up your motor to 2000 rpm. If it is going over 14.2+ volts, and I mean like 15 and up, you are overcharging the battery and all the systems that rely on balanced voltage like idiot lights will start to glow because of too much voltage on the + side just like they glow normally on the - side.

you can damage electrical components. check this right away.

Have the alternator checked for a bad regulator
