After 100K Miles w/ no troubles all of a sudden , I put the truck in drive and it wont move, it will move forward in 2nd gear and when I get it up to cruisein speed i cand nmove into 3rd which is engaged and then on to drive, once i slow downj it no longer engages in Drive or 3rd and i agaion have to back down to 2nd to start moving again. Reverse is fine, but only forward in 1st or 2nd until you are on the move. Could this be electrical or something other than the tranny or is that wishful thinking. The truck has 100K mostly hiway miles and has never been abused or worked hard. ????? Any thoughts Thanks in Advance[/color][/b]

Sounds like a shift solenoid problem.
Would need to get the transmssion somputer scanned for codes, then do some electrical testing to see if a wiring problem, trans. control control module, or one of the solenoids in the transmission.

Well, it isn't meant to but anything is possible. As far as difficulty, I would start with a tape measure to see how close the frames are on the two. If the same width you're half way there. Next would be measurements of the mounts- I would measure from front, between sides, and maybe even a cross measurement. If those are the same you're in luck. If those are different you're looking at manufacturing the differences to fit.. With a proper shop or a welder and ingenuity even the craziest mods are possible.
