Chevy Van Does not stay running

I have a 1983 Chevy g20 aviator conversion van 305 engine and I can get it to start and idles great as soon as it gets warm it dies and it doesn't start until it cools off again I've switched new plugs wires and cleaned out the carburetor and it still doesn't stay running what could this be I'm at my wits end

A carburetor - the wayback machine Mr Peabody- talk about time travel.

First thought - fuel, is choke pull off opening and choke plate opening when hot? Check for vacuum leaks, When its hot is there spark- ICM's often work when cold but fail hot- therefore they would bench test OK but fail in vehicle... just check spark at several plugs when hot..

Ive changed all plugs and wires.also cleaned entire carb

OK carb is new ( quadrajet?) is it adjusted?

*ICM- Ignition Control Module.

No it is not new i just cleaned it out it was really dirty but i got it clean.im not sure how to adjust the carb

I do not know how to advise - the carb needs to be working correctly and you do not have the ability to check it.

It is a basic automotive skill set .... luckily for you its a popular easy vehicle engine combination, a technician could handle easily.
