Brake line 2004 Blazer

Unread post by b17b17b17 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 9:21 am

Newbie here...
Brake line from ABS module to first union rusted to failure .
Is there a replacement option that has the flarings and fittings included available ? (hope that makes some sense)
Thanks for any advice anyone has .

you can check with the dealer to see if they have the replacement lines available. If the line rusted out, were the fittings okay? you can buy brake line from the parts store and make a new line with the fittings. You will need a flare tool for the ends and maybe a line bender to get the angles or just take it to a auto repair shop and have them make you one.

Thanks carriedi for your quick response.
Fitting was rusted at union down line, ok at ABS module.
I'm not so flexible any more and getting the line out was a challenge, was hoping for a quick install with a less winding route .
Looking at flaring tools now.

there are different styles of flares used. make sure you use the correct one for your vehicle. Most parts stores have the fittings and brake line you need.

Have the brake line and fittings now, the original line has 2 spirals , are the spirals mandatory ? , be a lot easier going straight...
Thanks !

no, you don't have to exactly match the original line. Just do the best that you can and make sure there isn't any leak from the line of fittings
