if you just replaced the motor, and the old motor used to work, something might be unplugged. I'm sure you over all the connections but just go over all the connections one more time. What happens when you turn on your key? Does the dash light up normally? Do you have a security light on? Is the engine cranking over but doesn't start?

fuel pump relay should come on by the PCM powering up the fuel pump relay wire. but the ground for the relay is G119, on the right front of the motor. make sure you have a good good ground connection there. The ignition control module grounds to G117, right rear of the cylinder head. and chcek ground G120 also at the right rear of the cylinder head.

I would recommend that you try a different scanner. Just to verify the code P0402. I don't show that code available for your model.

what engine do you have? Other than the engine light on, do you have any problems with how the engine is running or reacting?

I have a 2011 Chev Truck and a scan tool that I bought before 2011. Will my scanner read the ABS codes?

most scanners only do engine codes. There are some that do other modules. Most times if your scanner read abs codes in older cars it will read the codes in newer cars too. It may not tell you what the code is for but it should give you the code number so you could look it up externally

what warning lights come on? What year is the trailblazer?

you should have your dash scanned to see if the computer module is sending the signals or not. Depending on the year of the vehicle and the capabilities of the scanner, you should be able to do a sweep test and see it the dash responds or if there are codes stored for the cluster.

once the cluster acts up does tapping on it or pushing it towards the front make any difference? Like a loose connection at the back of the unit.
