Power steering and alternator

I've got a 2001. Power steering pump started howling. I checked the fluid and it is full. It seemed to have a lot of air in the fluid though. Also looking around the engine I see what appears to be power steering fluid like a high pressure spray but I can't see where it's coming from. At the same time the pump started howling, the battery light came on. Checking voltage on the battery. It doesn't seem to be getting enough voltage. Alternator is easy enough but the power steering has me puzzled. Any ideas

you need to find where the power steering spray is coming from. If it is causing a slow leak and the fluid level isn't too low, the air bubbles take up the space that power steering would be. Power steering can run up to 1500 psi. So, watch out if the spray is in an area that could blow apart.

Is the spray anywhere close to the drive belt for the alternator? Could the belt be slipping because ot the power steering fluid?
