2004 Pontiac Aztek antilock and traction help
I have a 2004 Pontic Aztek. went over real icy rail road tracks kind of hard now my service transaction system light is on. and light says anti-lock track off???? what does this mean? and my brakes still work no grinding noise nothing?
Re: 2004 Pontiac Aztek need help
A few possibilities.
1. During this situation, the system could not control the ABS and traction system properly, so it set the lights and codes in the computer. You can either try to get them cleared, or give it a few driving cycles to see if they go off.
2. Something was damaged. Depending on how you hit, it could have damaged a wheel speed senor or hub bearing. Or you could have damaged a wiring harness to one of the sensors. A visual inspection would show a torn wiring harness.
The Traction and ABS systems work together. If the light does not go off by it self, you will need to have the ABS computer scanned for codes.
