1999 Buick Regal SES light still on!

I had my ses light read and it came back with two problems ; Engine coolant temp sensor and control circuit fans #2
i replaced the sensor as well as the relay for fans.but the ses light is still on and fans dont come on at all past line after halway mark. Need help i need to pass smog asap!

ok, so you cleared the codes right? then the check engine light came back on?

fans don't come on at 1/2 gauge. they come on at 212F for the low speed fan. Both fans come on at low speed because they are in series so each fan has 1/2 the load. At 221F the computer will energize the high speed relay which turns on the mode relay and separates the two fan circuits and then applies full power to each fan in parallel.

have you scanned you car and watched the temperature? What does your scanner say the temperature is? Have you checked your relays and fuses?

whenever you scan your computer for codes it would help a lot if you could give the code numbers. There are many codes that may be confusing by their definition. The code number will greatly help to diagnose your problem.
