Unread post by jack » Mon Aug 09, 2010 8:22 pm

I have a 2003 buick park avenue 3.8. The vin is 1GXXXXXXX. Where do I find the purge solenoid valve? Is it located in the engine compartment or back by the evac canister. The dealer did a smoke test an tell me the valve is leaking causing a code tobe sent. Want to buy the correct one. Can someone help me with the location.?

The purge solenoid is on the engine. The Vent solenoid / valve is the part that is near the fuel tank of canister.
From standing at the front bumper, remove the engine cover, it is attached to a bracket above the front valve cover, closer to the ignition coils / module.

If you can install the other mass airflow sensor in the throttle body you need, then you should be fine. Everything else is the same.

Correct, not compatible. Your best bet would be to find a proper year throttle body, rather than trying to make something work.
