My car remote got wet recently and started going off
I took it apart let it dry and replaced the battery, but
Cannot seem to get it to reprogram and everytime I
Connect the battery to the remote the alarm goes off
What can I do? Is the remote fried?

is it the Honda factory security system? the remote fob? If so, do the other buttons work like door and trunk?

it is a factory remote Nothing seems to work on it other then setting the alarm off
when the battery is connected. and I can't seem to reset It

some things i don't understand. How are you trying to reprogram it?
if you don't put the battery in the remote (the remote is the "key fob" for most cars) will the car start and run normally?
Does putting the battery in the remote make the alarm go off instantly or is there a slight delay. It might be that the panic may be stuck on in the remote. does taking the battery back out of the remote turn the alarm off?

I tried reprogramming it by the way I was told
Remotes were programmed by Honda. Turning the key to
The on position and off and click the lock or unlock
Between each time u turn the key to the on (4-5 times I believe?)
. The panic does not seem To be stuck on and the remote alarm instantly
Sounds when i put the new battery into the remote
I don't see why it wouldn't work seeing as how it still does that
The remote light doesn't light up at all when I push buttons

yes, it seems so. if there is a light that comes on, or used to come on, but doesn't now would make me think that it is not sending a signal.
:also if the remote lights up normally, and you are trying to reprogram but all the door locks don't work, set the wiper delay to the center position. turn the key on, off, on.

when the battery dies, if it wipes out some internal code that may need a tiny trickle of juice to preserve it. You might have to contact a dealer or auto repair and service to reset this. Like when the CMOS battery on the motherboard of an unplugged computer dies: you lose a bunch of BIOS settings.
