Thayer asks. Dear KK: I am looking to replace the temperature control sensor for the fans on my 1995 oldsmobile cutlass ciera v6, but i have no i dea where it is located a picture or diagrahm would be much appreciated.
KK: The coolant temp sensor is in the lower intake manifold. From under the hood, it is between the front valve cover and the throttle body assembly. A 2-wire sensor. Then sensor sends a signal to the pcm (computer) and the pcm turns on the fan to low speed (or fan 1) at aprox. 221 degrees, high speed (or fan 2 if heavy duty cooling) at approx. 235 degrees. See picture attachment of similar engine and its location. Finger pointing to sensor connector.
