Dear KK: I am looking to replace the temperature control
sensor for the fans on my 1995 Oldsmobile cutlass Ciera v6, but i have no
i idea where it is located a picture or diagram would be much
appreciated.
KK:
The coolant temp sensor is in the lower intake manifold.
From under the hood, it is between the front valve cover and the throttle body
assembly. A 2-wire sensor. Then sensor sends a signal to the pcm (computer)
and the pcm turns on the fan to low speed (or fan 1) 221 degrees, high speed
(or fan 2 if heavy duty cooling) at approx. 235 degrees.
See picture attachment of similar engine and its location. Finger pointing to
sensor connector.

Question: I've always been able to hear the fuel pump prime when the key is in the on position.
But no sign of fuel at the injector rail.
Now I've changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, fuel injector pressure regulator, oil
pressure sensor, crankshaft position sensor. I've cleaned the
mass air flow valve and most of the grounding connections. I've ohmed the injectors and verified
power to the injectors while cranking the engine.
Answer: You should check to make sure you
have power at the fuel pump with the key on and
while cranking. You could have damaged a wire
during the repair, or even have a bad 'new'
pump. There may be a short somewhere else as
well. This would take some wire tracing, but
should be easily found if that's the problem. You
could also have a bad computer. It may not be
giving a signal to activate the fuel pump. You
might want to check the crank sensor as well.
