Dear JK:
I recently bought a new radio and tryed to put it in. But the problem
is that I can't get the covers off. Do I have to crawl under the
trashcan or something like that?
JK:
In order to remove the radio, you will need to remove the dash cluster/radio trim panel.
To get that off, fist remove the knee bolster- the panel below the steering column, even
with your knees. 2- phillips or 7mm screws, then pull the top portion away from the dask
to access the cluster trim. May be 2- 7mm screws in cluster trim panel going upward
above the gauges. Remove those if it has them. Then pull panel from top. Pull away from
dash, working you way around the panel. Tilt the column down to help removing trim
while diconnecting any electrical connectors from behind the panel Now remove the radio.
Back
1- Dashboard
assembly
2- Gauges/radio trim
