2003 Chevy Trailblazer
Dear BL: I think my battery may be shot.  I've had to get a
jump the last two days.  If I purchase a new battery, what is the
proper way to install it?







BL:
First remove fender support bracket (if equipped). 13mm and/or 10mm bolts.
Next remove batt. cover. It should just pull straight up.
Remove NEGATIVE CABLE BOLT FIRST and put cable aside.
Remove positive cable nut next.
Remove lower batt. hold down bracket. A 13mm bolt on lower portion of batt.
Lift batt. out.
Install new batt., lower hold down bracket, POSITIVE CABLE AND BOLT FIRST. Then
negative cable and bolt. MUST remove/install cables in the proper order to prevent
accidentally shorting out wrench. Install cover.
NEVER allow wrench to contact metal while touching the positive cable.
Never allow wrench to contact positive to negative cable/bolt while they are attached to the
battery.
