The HID Light: How to install this unique lighting.
Replacing the old halogen for the new Xenon bulb.

To replace your new xenon bulb you will first need to find your low beam dust
cover. This can be found in the back of the headlight assembly. Remove the cover
by twisting it, and once you are able to get to the bulb inside, disconnect it from the
wiring and remove it.
One of the newest and most unique lights to hit the market in recent times is the
high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights. These remarkably powerful and bright
lights are far superior to traditional halogen in that they are more intense, generally
have a wider range, and can extend beyond the normal range of viewing. This is
done through the burning of a special inert gas called xenon.
First introduced in 1991 by BMW they are not only used as a more efficient
source of lighting, but also as a status symbol. Although some people are
intimidate when it comes to installing these unusual lights, they are really quite
simple to do. They do require a special ballast that is used to change your vehicles
existing 12v DC to a higher rate, enabling the gas to be burned. This to is not
difficult to install.
    Not only has
HID lighting become popular, so has the usage of additional
lighting in conjunction with the HID. One of these systems is called LED. The LED is
a light bulb that is solid, cheap, energy efficient, and durable. Typically the LED is
constructed into a ring that is placed on top of a projector ring and when used with
the HID it creates a beautiful whitish blue glow.
In order to install your HID lights it’s a good idea to do some preparation by
securing your working environment. This can be done simply by turning off your
vehicle, disconnecting your car battery, and even waiting until your engine has
completely cooled off before continuing.
Installing the ballast

Finishing installation of your new HID lights requires that you first are able to
find a secure and safe location to place the ballast. Keep in mind that your car was
not designed for this addition, and making sure that it is properly in place is highly
important. It is also wise to keep in mind that you will need to reach both the new
bulb, and the wiring, so make sure you are careful about your placement. Location
in vehicles will vary.
After you have safely fastened the ballast connect the bulb to the wiring. Once
you have completed installation first go back through and double check not only
the connections, but also the ballast. Be sure that it is not going to move. After you
have rechecked your work test your new lights.
