Problem with my 03 pontiac Montana van

GM tech = kk
question = have a 03 Montana van with dual sliders left side caught fire
due  to short i think any way would like to make this a manual door so it
will open  again any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks.

You can make this a manual door. Without going into the interior trim
panel   and removing the entire power motor assembly, we have
converted these  doors to manual by cutting the cable that works the
door, on both ends. A  cable comes from the rear of the door, and one
cable from the front and  they both attach to the door roller. You need to
cut it as close to the end of  the cable- not close to the door roller. Then
you can remove the remaining  cable from the roller. The door will still
be a little stiff opening and closing,  but not as much as if the cables
were still on. You would also need to turn  the power door switch to off in
the overhead console switch. Or get to the  module and disconnect the
wiring harness to disable it.
