Problem on my 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
L4, 2.4L; DOHC 16V
dash lights = check engine
codes = P0108
Repairs done prior = timing belt replaced and water pump and spark plugs
tech = kk
question = well when i first bought car it ran fine this all after
timing belt replaced and water pump and spark plugs it ran fine for about
2 to 3 mounds and now after i start it the idle goes up an down and
when i step on gas it wants to die and when i take my foot off its fine.I
had asked this question a couple days ago when it was showing DTC
codes P0108,P0300,P0335 and now only showing P0108 so could it still be
timing belt is off a little or something else?.

KK:
p0108 is a MAP sensor circuit problem.
p0335 is a crankshaft position sensor circuit problem.
p0300 is misfires.
If all these codes came up after the timing chain was replaced, i would have to say
that the timing is off a tooth or two. That would explain the MAP sensor code
because the valve timing is off, thus affecting engine vacuum. The crank position
sensor would also be affected, as well as causing misfires.
