Vehicle make/model = olds bravada Year = 1998 Mileage = 12000 Engine size = 4.3 dash lights = no codes = no work done prior = new fuel pump work done to repair = replaced fuel pump new plugs cap rotot tech = jk question = got new fuel pump under warranty still would not start put plugs in still would not start put cap and rotor started up ran good drove it around shut it off now the gauges all go down like they are grounding out while cranking won`t start again I am thinking of buying this truck from my buddy can you help?
JK: Sounds like all these things are related to an electrical problem. By what you describe - especially with the gauges problem, it sounds like an ignition switch problem. The ignition switch fials internally and does not supply correct or any voltage to several different systems, including the ignition and/or fuel system, as well as the gauges. you can try to cycle the ignition switch very quickly several times and see if that helps, or remove the lower steering coilmn cover and wiggle the harness of the ignition switch and tap on the switch. This will sometimes give an indication of an ignition switch problem.
