Problem with my 97 Olds Aurora
Engine size = 4.0
dash lights = yes check engine
Repair work done prior = New bulb and checked fuses-good
Work done to repair this problem = New bulbs fuses are good
GM tech = jk
question = Reverse lights don't work! Has new bulbs and fuses are good. Where is the
switch or sensor on the trans??
JK:
The back-up lights circuit is internal to the park / neutral switch.
The switch is located on the top-rear of the transmission.
From under the hood, it is below the brake master cylinder, on the top of the trans.

Question:I am working on a 1987 Olds Toranodo for a guy, He says he has had to put three ECM's
in the car through the years (it has 260000 miles but looks new) the problem is it keeps dying and
you never know when. when it starts to happen you can feel it shutter for just a second, then the
dash reads ECM? and also possible bad ground. It comes up with codes for the BCM, the numbers
are B334, B335, B336, B337, and B552, could this be a bad wire loosing contact for just a
second? All but the last code mean loss of DATA of some kind. When I try to Google the code
numbers it comes up with Cadillac problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: The codes have nothing to do with the
ECM going bad, or stalling out. These are for body
systems. If it dies out and the ECM goes bad at the
same time, you are going to have to look for a
shorted wiring in the engine compartment. Move
harnesses around while it is running to see if you
can get it to stall. If the computer going bad is not
the same time as the stalling, then the stalling
could be from anything- ignition module, ECM,
wiring, crank position sensor, fuel pressure, fuel
injector harness, etc.
