1992 Ford F-150. XLT. 5.0 ignition module problem
My ignition module keeps burning up . I put new distripitor in ?

The icm should come with a tube of grease to put on the flat back part to help transfer some heat to the distributor body. Have you put the grease all over the back part? It helps to get rid of some of the heat that the module builds up internally.
How often does the module go out?

I used the grease they have me. It's went out three times in six months well I'm on my third one now.

when the ICM goes out what do you lose? No spark? No injector pulse? Or both? Does your ignition module go on the distributor or on the fender?
check the distributor for a good ground. check the connection to the module. Look for a possible short in the wiring harness.
Is there someone checking the module to see what it's doing or are you just replacing it and the truck runs so you're good until it happens again? You may want to look at your PIP signal if the module goes out again. Or even scope the pip signal now and see if it looks normal. If the rise and drop of the pip signal is poor it could be a sign of a bad pick up or a poor ground that reduces the signal. It's best to look at things when the truck stops working so you can see what is actually happening. Most shops will replace the ICM and if it runs good, stop there. But for going out the way yours is, further diagnose should be done.
