there is no recommended mileage or time for replacement for timing chains. It's is a replace as needed item not a maintenance item. (Meaning when it goes bad that's when you replace it) If the chain makes noise or jumps a tooth and causes driveability issues.

2004 Ion

Clutch won't disengage - pedal unrestraineed (all the way up) with a thin, ivory colored plastic rod visible extending through firewall. Can't find any parts on the car floor. Master cylinder fluid full. Ideas ?

can you push the pedal down like normal and it return like normal but just the clutch never releases (can't get out of gear with engine running) or clutch never engages (like it's always in neutral)

going by just part numbers, the 07 vue has a #89060390 engine part number and an 07 ion has a #19169027. But if you go online and check junkyards they show the same engines available for both vehicles. call a wrecking yard and see it they have the interchange information.

things like with or without AIR check valve or Calif emissions make a difference though
