the shotgun approach does work sometimes but it gets expensive. It's usually better to figure out what is going wrong and just fix the problem. If you can't figure it out you could take it to a shop and have them figure it out for you and then you just do the repair.

My husband said it depends which emissions you have your scanner on which leads to the next question. How do you know if your truck has California emissions on it?

there is an emissions sticker under the hood area that says what year and what emissions it is covered for. If it does not say it meets California standards then it is federal emissions

If you still have thus truck, I would try replacing your idle air conrtol valve. I own thus truck and had that exact issue.

I would not replace the computer until I knew there was something wrong with it. It gets really expensive to just replace parts. If you can't find something actually wrong why don't you take it to a shop and just see if they can diagnose it for you? If it saves you buying some parts you don't need, it could pay for itself...
